We are currently having some website linking issues so the links for the Architectural Design Guidelines and the Application have been deactivated. If you need a copy of either of these documents, please email Kimberly Riehl with Gates Hudson Community Management at

*   2016-17 Holiday Trash Schedule   *

CSI has given us the holiday trash and recycling dates.  Because Christmas Day and New Year's Day are on a Sunday this year, there will be no interruption to trash or recycling this holiday season.  Christmas tree pickup dates are January 4th and 11th, 2017.  Trees must be completely bare and on the curb before 6:00am on the scheduled pickup days!

*   Pet Waste   *

We have received several complaints about pet waste being left on homeowner's property and in common areas.  This is in violation of Fairfax County Code 41.2-2-6, and is a Class 4 Misdemeanor.  These incidences are occurring frequently enough so as not to be from occasional accidents.  Our community is interspersed with other neighborhoods, so our best defense is vigilance.  If you see someone neglecting their responsibilities, please encourage them to be more attentive and remind of the ordinance.  It is up to all of us to keep our neighborhood clean.

*   Yard Waste Collection    *

As described in the letter from CSI detailing their services, here are some notes on Yard Waste Collection that some homeowners may have overlooked:

Ø Place yard waste into compostable and biodegradable bags, not more than 50 pounds.

Ø Dirt, rocks, or sod are unacceptable & will not be collected.
Ø Branches should be tied in bundles, and should be no longer than 4’ in length, and 2” to 3” in width.
Recycling of Yard Waste is done from March 1 through December 24.

*   Aggressive Driving    *

If you witness aggressive driving in our neighborhood, the police department encourages you to report it. Call the police department's non-emergency number,  (703) 691-2131, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

*  Community Event Planning   *

Got ideas for a Fair Lakes Forest community event?  We'd love to hear from you.  Please join us at the upcoming HOA board meeting or email us at

*  CSI Trash and Recycling  *

Our Trash & Recycling company is Con-Serv Industries (CSI).  Here are links for  the PDFs of Collection Instructions and Recycling Guidelines.

Our eastern trail has been completely replaced and our western trail refinished!  Both trails now have a 6" base and should be in good condition for years to come.
